The Rasheed Brothers had their first contact with Jiu Jitsu in 2004 at a gym was managed by their first coach Tarek Kalimat; the Rasheeds have reported to the media several times of how their coach Tarek was not only teaching them Jiu Jitsu, but the moral values with which they built their character.
The Rasheeds started Jiu Jitsu at a young age. Kareem was 14 while Abdullah was 12 years old. After few years, Samy Aljamal arrived in the city with the objective of giving and establishing a team for competition. At that time the Rasheeds were on and off training as they were focusing on having good marks in school. Coach Tarek introduced The Rasheeds to Professor Samy and so they started their integration to the Team.
The Source MMA encouraged the brothers to compete and reinforced that they needed to dedicate themselves fully in their training. At the age of 17 Kareem started to help in the kid’s class which gave Hussein; their youngest brother the opportunity to join the class.
After 2 years, Kareem had to travel to Germany to continue his studies. Abdullah had to fill his brother’s position and to take over all classes as an assistant coach. Samy aljamal promoted Abdelkarim, Abdullah and Hussein in all belt levels. The first appearance of the brothers in the headline came when their youngest brother Hussein took first place in Abudhabi World pro.
The Three brothers were able to accomplish a lot for their personal record and have continued to dedicate themselves not only to their own training but also to their students. In January 2015 they founded The Dojo Academy. Since then, the brothers have built the best kids team winning consecutive overall team titles at The UAEJJF World Pro 2016.
“WE AREN’T EVEN CLOSE TO ACHIEVING WHAT WE WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE SPORT. WE ARE STILL YOUNG AND WE ARE THREE. WE ARE ONLY AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR JOURNEY. WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK GOD FIRST; FOR OUR HEALTH AND EVERYTHING HE HAS GIVEN US AND THE DOJO FAMILY WHO HAS GIVEN US TREMENDOUS SUPPORT AND BELIEVED IN US”
